Title : Technical Instructor Client Title: Technical Trainer (Contractor)Contract Duration: 1 year (Sep 1, 2026 – Sep 1, 2027)Location: San Francisco California 94105 - (Monday - Thursday); Some monthly travel required for eventsPay Rate: $185/hr on W2About the role: You will be a dedicated instructor for Client's Basecamp technical onboarding programs, delivering live sessions across our 4-5 learning paths (Architect, Admin, Developer, Associate Architect; User path launching later). This is a delivery-focused role: you teach, run labs, and own the classroom experience while curriculum owners own the content.

Responsibilities

Deliver live technical sessions, in person and hybrid, across assigned Basecamp pathsRun hands-on labs and exercises; support learners through technical issues in the roomDry-run sessions with curriculum owners ahead of each cohort and iterate on deliveryCollect and relay learner feedback and survey signal to program ownersSupport day-of cohort operations alongside the program teamTravel to cohort sites as scheduledRequired:Experienced technical instructor, trainer, or teaching-focused engineerComfortable teaching API- and AI-product content to mixed technical audiencesStrong live facilitation: can hold a room, handle questions, adapt pace in real timeAble to travel regularly for cohort weeksNice-to-have:Experience teaching or enabling GTM/sales-adjacent technical audiencesHands-on familiarity with LLM productsInstructional design backgroundAdditional notes on this: Need engineering mind, trainer second.Someone who has been an architect or engineer and built software in some capacity and the curriculum they deliver will be real, in terms of like developer empathyPrevious titles like software engineer, architect, then launched into a training role or vice versa.Teacher Assistants - someone who did this on a collegiate level then transferred more into software development. Is a teacher at heart but can speak to the engineer/dev fundamentals.Preferred candidates from: AI Labs - Demo Engineers from AI labsAnyone from Startup, any new AI company, any developer tools companiesDeveloper education companies or coding bootcamp companiesTech companies with strong advocacy /Top AI startups background .Candidates with more engineering background who have 2-3 YOE with technical curriculum development AND can communicate well. Ideally have portfolio with video's that show them teaching or running a class. Technical enough and can lead a cohort room with confidence
