Technical Lead / Architect-5693

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Lead / Architect to own the professional and technological leadership of R&D activity for a company that builds and operates complex, mission-critical technology systems.This role is the division’s senior technical authority and a close technology partner to the VP, working closely with the CTO, development managers, team leads, and product managers.What the role includes:Leading the architecture of division systems and products, translating business needs into practical solutionsEstablishing and embedding standards, methodologies, and engineering best practicesLeading design and architecture reviews and mentoring team leads and developersEvaluating and selecting technologies, frameworks, and development tools, including running POCsIdentifying and addressing technical debt and leading modernization effortsSolving complex technical and cross-team production issuesWhat we’re looking for:At least 8 years of experience building complex software systems, including significant experience as a Senior Engineer / Tech Lead / Architect / Principal EngineerProven experience architecting complex, multi-system production environmentsSignificant backend and distributed systems experienceDeep understanding of system design, APIs, integration, databases, scalability, performance, and high availabilityExperience working with legacy systems and leading modernization processesAbility to lead technical decisions and influence across multiple teams without direct managerial authorityStrong advantage: experience with cloud and/or on-prem environments, containers, CI/CD, mission-critical or 24/7 systems, IoT or real-time systems, and systems combining software, hardware, and communications.
