Technical Lead - Python and AI Automation

We're working with a fast-growing FinTech that's using AI to remove friction from the financial application process, cutting the time it takes customers to go from application to decision.They're now looking for a Technical Lead to lead a team of around 7 engineers, reporting directly into the Head of Engineering you'll have significant influence and scope.This isn't a role for someone who wants to step back from code and just manage.You'll stay hands-on. Designing, building and shipping while also owning mentoring, coaching, and helping the team raise its own bar.What they need:Real, hands-on experience taking AI/LLM capability into production, not just prototypes or POCsStrong software engineering fundamentals (Python-based stack)Someone opinionated and conversational who's happy to challenge ideas (and be challenged)A genuine interest in leading people: mentoring, pairing, growing engineersWould suit an experienced technical lead or a strong Senior Engineer ready to step up into their first official Lead role.Setup:Central London OfficeHybrid working, with flexibility about on-site days.Salary:£ 100,000 - £120,000 depending on experienceIf you've shipped AI into production, enjoy the technical craft as much as the team leadership, and want influence without red tape then get in touch.
