Its approach emphasizes disciplined management, proactive risk mitigation, lifecycle cost control, and sustainable value creation.Role Description The Technical Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves overseeing the technical performance and maintenance of managed vessels, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Daily tasks include coordinating drydocking and repair activities, monitoring vessel condition and performance, reviewing technical reports, and managing budgets related to maintenance and lifecycle costs. The Technical Manager will collaborate closely with superintendents, senior seafarers, and commercial teams to align technical operations with commercial and investment objectives. The role also includes leading technical improvement initiatives, supporting inspections and audits, and providing guidance on risk mitigation and long-term asset reliability.Qualifications Strong analytical skills to evaluate vessel performance, maintenance data, lifecycle costs, and technical risks.Proven team management capabilities, including leading technical staff, coordinating with crew, and fostering effective cross-functional collaboration.Hands-on experience in technical support for marine assets, including troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and compliance with international maritime regulations.Background in research and development (R&D) or continuous improvement, with the ability to identify and implement technical enhancements and innovation in ship operations.Demonstrated project management skills for overseeing drydocking, repair projects, and technical upgrade programs within time and budget constraints.Relevant degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, or a related technical discipline; professional maritime certifications are an advantage.Experience in international ship management or maritime operations, preferably within a performance-driven and investment-focused environment.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Comfort with hybrid work arrangements and digital tools for remote collaboration and technical reporting.
