Apply & track with Apply EdgeLocation: Saudi ArabiaEvent Period: 7 January – 5 February 2027Start Date: Approximately 1 week prior to the eventAvailability: Candidates must be available for the full event periodAbout the RoleWe are looking for experienced Technical Managers to join the delivery team for a major sporting event taking place across Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.The Technical Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of AV, audio, video, power and lighting systems, ensuring that all technical requirements are properly planned, installed, tested and operational throughout the event.The role will involve coordinating technical suppliers, contractors and specialist teams, managing installation and testing schedules, and ensuring all technical systems are fully operational and event-ready.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the planning and delivery of event technical requirements, including AV, audio, video, lighting and power.Coordinate technical suppliers, contractors, production teams and specialist technical crews.Develop and manage technical schedules covering delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and event readiness.Oversee the installation, integration and testing of technical systems and equipment.Ensure all technical systems are installed and operational in accordance with agreed specifications and event requirements.Monitor technical suppliers and contractors to ensure work is delivered on time, to specification and to the required quality standards.Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate technical installation and testing activities.Manage technical rehearsals, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting prior to and during the event.Coordinate closely with production, operations, venue, logistics and other event teams.Identify technical risks, issues and potential delays and implement effective solutions.Oversee snagging, remedial works and technical adjustments where required.Ensure appropriate contingency and backup plans are in place for critical technical systems.Support live event operations and respond quickly to technical issues or failures.Ensure all technical activities comply with relevant health, safety, venue and event requirements.Provide regular progress updates and escalate critical technical issues to senior management.Support the smooth transition from build and installation through to live event delivery and decommissioning.Requirements3–5+ years of relevant technical/event production experience.Proven experience managing technical delivery for large-scale live events.Strong hands-on management experience across one or more of the following:AudioVideoAVLightingPowerExperience managing technical suppliers, contractors and specialist teams.Strong understanding of event technical production, installation, testing and commissioning.Experience working on major sporting events, stadiums, concerts, ceremonies, festivals or other large-scale events.Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple technical workstreams and tight deadlines simultaneously.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, live-event environment.Willingness to work on-site and extended hours when required during the build, testing and live event.Must be available from approximately one week before the event through 5 February 2027.Ideal BackgroundMajor international sporting eventsStadium and arena eventsOpening and closing ceremoniesLarge-scale concerts and festivalsEvent AV and technical productionAudio and sound systemsVideo and LED/display systemsEvent lightingTemporary event power and electrical infrastructureTechnical operations and event readinessLarge-scale technical installations and commissioning
