As an early-stage, pre-revenue company, we are building out our core team and are looking for a hands-on Technical Manager to own the full technical function on a standalone basis. Role OverviewThis is a solo technical leadership role — you will be the single point of technical ownership and accountability at FinVest, with no direct reports initially. You will act as the primary technical liaison between FinVest and our external contracted technology vendor(s)/development companies, ensuring their output meets our standards, our compliance obligations, and our roadmap.Key ResponsibilitiesVendor Liaison & Technical Oversight: Serve as the main point of contact between FinVest and the external companies/vendors we contract for software development, acting as the bridge between the business and the technical delivery team.Code & Work Review: Review and audit the vendor's deliverables, codebase, architecture decisions, and development practices to ensure quality, security, and alignment with FinVest's requirements.Code Backup & Repository Management: Maintain a full backup of all vendor-delivered code and technical assets on FinVest's own GitHub organization/repositories, ensuring FinVest retains ownership and continuity of its intellectual property independent of any single vendor.Regulatory Representation: Represent FinVest technically in meetings with the Saudi Capital Market Authority (CMA), including sandbox compliance discussions, technical due diligence sessions, and any technology-related regulatory requirements (e.g., acting as or supporting the internally designated IT Responsible Officer role required by CMA).Full Technical Ownership: Own all technical aspects of the company — infrastructure, security posture, data handling, system architecture decisions, and technical risk — even where day-to-day development is outsourced.Compliance Alignment: Ensure the platform's technical build aligns with CMA sandbox requirements and evolving regulatory expectations.Candidate ProfileStrong technical background (software engineering, IT/cybersecurity, or systems architecture) with the ability to independently evaluate the quality and security of work delivered by external development teams.Comfortable operating solo, without a technical team beneath them, and taking full ownership/accountability for the technology function.Experience working with or overseeing outsourced/contracted development vendors.Familiarity with GitHub workflows, code review practices, and repository/IP management.Professional communication skills sufficient to represent the company in front of a financial sector regulator (CMA); fintech, capital markets, or regulated-industry exposure is a strong plus.Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical specifications for external vendors.Compensation & Engagement NotePlease note: FinVest is an early-stage startup that is currently pre-revenue. As such, candidates should not expect a market-rate salary at this stage. We are open to discussing flexible engagement structures, including a part-time arrangement instead of full-time, understood to come with proportionally reduced compensation. We welcome candidates who are motivated by the opportunity to build something from the ground up and are open to discussing compensation structures — including potential equity — that reflect the company's current stage. If you'd like, I can also prepare an Arabic version of this posting, or turn it into a formatted one-page PDF/Word document ready to publish or share externally.
