Technical Mentor / Full-Time Engineering TutorPosition OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Technical Mentor / Engineering Tutor to guide, upskill, and support early-career and mid-career developers. You will deliver one-on-one and small-group tutoring, lead live workshops, design practical curriculum and exercises, perform code reviews and debugging sessions, and help learners build production-quality projects. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering experience across web and AI stacks with excellent teaching and communication skills.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions covering core engineering topics, best practices, and problem-solving strategies.Design and maintain hands-on curriculum, labs, and assessments focused on web development, APIs, AI integrations, testing, and debugging.Conduct live workshops, code reviews, pair-programming sessions, and technical Q&A hours to accelerate learner progress.Teach and mentor on various languages/ technologies including but not limited to Python, Django, Ruby on Rails, Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related frameworks.Guide students through integrating with APIs, building plugins and integrations, and deploying services on cloud platforms such as AWS.Instruct on AI concepts and practical use.Help learners use AI APIs, embed models into applications, and implement safe, effective AI features.Lead testing strategies including unit, integration, and regression testing; teach test-driven development and debugging workflows.Create and maintain reference materials, example projects, templates, and automated grading scripts.Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the product and curriculum teams to improve learning outcomes.Diagnose and help resolve real-world engineering problems in student projects, including performance issues, security considerations, and deployment errors.Qualifications5+ years professional software engineering experience or equivalent experience combining development and technical mentoring.Proven tutoring, teaching, or mentorship experience and comfortable working one-on-one and in small groups with diverse learners.Strong coding skills in Python and Django, and experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and experience building front-end and full-stack applications.Experience designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs, building plugins and third-party integrations.Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and hands-on experience integrating AI services into applications.Solid debugging and testing skills including unit, integration, and regression testing practices.Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider for deployment and infrastructure tasks.Comfortable with developer tools, version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred but not required; equivalent industry experience accepted.
