PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONProvide technical and coordination support to the Energy Project Leader in the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of climate and energy initiatives, with a focus on energy transition, 1.5°C-aligned target setting, and the application of environmental and social safeguards in renewable energy development. The position will also support stakeholder engagement across government, civil society, private sector, communities, academia, and development partners to contribute to effective and sustainable project outcomes.II. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESA. Project Planning, Research & DesignSupport the development and refinement of project strategies, workplans, budgets, theories of change, logical frameworks, implementation roadmaps, and other planning documents, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, national climate and energy policies, and donor requirements.Conduct relevant research and analysis, including policy and regulatory reviews, stakeholder mapping, baseline research, and analysis of emerging climate and energy issues, to inform project design and implementation.Contribute to project concepts, proposals, and technical recommendations, including the integration of environmental, social, gender, and Indigenous Peoples considerations into project planning and risk management.B. Project Implementation & Stakeholder CoordinationCoordinate and support the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved workplans, budgets, timelines, and quality standards, working closely with internal teams, government counterparts, partners, consultants, technical experts, civil society, and other stakeholders.Maintain project implementation trackers, timelines, and follow-up mechanisms, monitor progress against agreed milestones, and support the resolution and escalation of implementation issues where required.Organize and support workshops, trainings, field activities, stakeholder consultations, and other project events, including coordination of logistics, materials, documentation, and follow-up actions.Prepare and maintain relevant technical and project documentation, including presentations, briefing materials, technical notes, meeting records, and other project outputs.C. Policy Engagement, Advocacy & CommunicationsSupport policy engagement and advocacy related to climate and energy priorities through policy and regulatory analysis, stakeholder consultations, and multi-stakeholder dialogues.Contribute to the development of policy briefs, technical notes, briefing papers, presentations, and other policy-oriented materials that translate technical findings into practical and accessible recommendations.Work with communications teams to translate technical and policy content into accessible communication and outreach materials while ensuring accuracy and consistency with organizational positions.D. Monitoring, Reporting & Financial SupportSupport Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) by collecting and organizing project data, tracking indicators, documenting evidence of progress, and maintaining monitoring tools and project records.Contribute to internal, donor, and project reporting by compiling and verifying information, tracking achievements against targets, and documenting challenges, lessons learned, and follow-up actions.Coordinate with the finance team to support budget monitoring, financial documentation, and administrative requirements, ensuring project activities are implemented in accordance with approved budgets and organizational procedures.E. Safeguards, Risk Management & ComplianceIntegrate environmental, social, gender, and Indigenous Peoples safeguards across project planning, stakeholder engagement, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, including identifying potential risks and supporting appropriate mitigation measures.Support the identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of operational, financial, reputational, environmental, social, and implementation risks throughout the project cycle.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, ethical standards, donor requirements, and applicable laws and regulations, while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of project and stakeholder information.III. REQUIREMENTSA. EducationBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Energy Policy, Energy Studies, Development Studies, or other relevant fields.Minimum 1 years of relevant professional experience in climate change, energy transition, renewable energy, sustainability, environmental policy, or related areas.Experience in project coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, preferably in a development, environmental, or non-profit organization.Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-stakeholder processes involving government, private sector, civil society, communities, academia, or development partners.C. Technical Knowledge & SkillsGood understanding of climate change, energy transition, renewable energy, and/or 1.5°C-aligned climate targets, particularly in the Indonesian context.Knowledge of relevant climate and energy policies, regulations, and institutional frameworks in Indonesia.Understanding of environmental and social safeguards, including considerations related to gender, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities.Strong research, analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and practical recommendations.Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple activities, stakeholders, timelines, and priorities.At Yayasan WWF Indonesia, we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment where diversity is valued and equal opportunities are provided to all.
