You will spend much of your week at client sites, working with lenders on their data and on how our products fit the way they operate. You are Kaleidofin's product and technical presence in East Africa. You work out what data each client has and where it lives, get it out of their systems and make our products run on it. You also run demos with sales, pin down what each client needs customized, and bring what you learn back into the product.Products in scope: all of Kaleidofin's products, including but not limited to ki originate, ki credit, ki score, ki monitor, ki catalyst and Dada Biashara.Product and market ownershipOwn East Africa's input to the product roadmap: what lenders in the region need, which client requests become product changes, and in what order, agreed with product leadership.Build and keep current a view of the East Africa market, covering lender segments, regulation, credit bureau and mobile money infrastructure, and competing providers.Own the deployment playbook for the region, so each new client goes live faster than the last.Track how clients use our products after go-live and act on what you find.Report back to product in a set format: gaps, repeated client requests and usability problems.Client deployment and dataVisit clients, map their data sources and set the data requirements for each engagement.Extract, clean and structure loan tapes, repayment histories, M-Pesa and bank statements, and CRB data, writing scripts and queries where needed.Work with client IT teams on integrations with their core banking and loan management systems.Own go-live for each deployment, including first-line technical issues on site. Business analysisRun requirement sessions with client credit, risk and operations teams.Record client-specific customisations separately from what the core product already does.Write requirements that the product and engineering teams in India can build from.Sales support Shape how each product is positioned for East African lenders.Prepare and run product demos with sales, using the client's own data and use case where possible.Answer technical and data questions during pre-sales and scoping.Skills and Experience
- 4 to 7 years across product management, solutions engineering, implementation or technical business analysis, including real client-facing time, ideally at a bank, MFI or fintech in East Africa
- Working SQL and Python (or similar) for extracting and transforming data. You don't need to be a software developer, but you should be comfortable reading code, APIs and database schemas
- Hands-on experience with the core banking or loan management systems East African lenders use
- A working knowledge of lending data: repayment schedules, arrears, CRB reports, mobile money statements
- Equally comfortable running a requirements workshop and a demo
- Willing to spend long stretches on client premises
- Fluent written and spoken English; Swahili is a strong plus
