This is a highly collaborative, onsite position that combines Technical Sales, Business Development, Customer Support, Inside Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Project Management.On any given day, you might perform customer outreach, process orders and quotations, troubleshoot an electrical design issue, review marketing materials, participate in engineering meetings, create a customer presentation, or strategize with our manufacturers' representatives. Because we design and manufacture hardware in-house, this is truly a hands-on role in every sense.You will manage customer relationships from the first conversation through product selection, quotation, order processing, technical support, and ongoing business development. The work includes both complex technical problem-solving and the daily execution required to keep customers well supported and opportunities moving forward.You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, company leadership, international distributors, manufacturers' representatives, and customers every day. You will also work directly with and support the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, becoming a key partner in managing customer activity and expanding sales.If you enjoy learning, you'll thrive at SDI. As you master one aspect of the business, there is always another opportunity to broaden your skills, take on new responsibilities, and contribute in new ways. This position is based at our Kirkland headquarters and includes occasional customer visits and travel to approximately four to five trade shows each year.What You'll DoDevelop new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.Proactively pursue leads, follow up on quotations and customer activity, and keep opportunities moving forward.Manage the complete sales cycle from lead qualification through product selection, quotation, order entry, delivery, and ongoing customer support.Prepare quotations, process orders, maintain accurate records, and ensure customer and internal commitments are completed accurately and on time.Help customers solve technical problems by recommending appropriate products and supporting product selection, setup, integration, and troubleshooting.Build relationships across engineering, purchasing, program management, and leadership within customer organizations to identify additional applications, contacts, and long-term business opportunities.Develop, support, and grow our network of manufacturers' representatives and distribution partners by helping them identify opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and increase sales.Coordinate customer projects internally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to support successful execution.Gather customer and market feedback and serve as the voice of the customer during product development and product improvement efforts.Prepare presentations, application notes, FAQs, knowledge articles, and other technical sales and marketing materials; provide product training; and represent SDI at customer meetings and trade shows.Support the Vice President of Sales & Marketing with sales, marketing, business development, and company initiatives as needed.What We're Looking ForSuccess in a collaborative small-company environment where flexibility, initiative, accountability, and teamwork are essential.Comfort working onsite and collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, company leadership, and other departments every day.A dependable, self-directed work style with sound judgment. You stay organized, follow through on commitments, and keep work moving independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrated ability to balance multiple customer opportunities, projects, quotations, orders, and follow-up activities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Willingness to handle routine sales and order-processing responsibilities with the same care given to technical and business-development work.Confidence to make decisions within your level of responsibility, recognize when additional information is needed, and involve others appropriately.A professional, collaborative working style suited to close daily collaboration and occasional multi-day customer visits and trade show travel with a coworker.Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred, another engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.Five or more years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, sales engineering, technical support, field support, business development, or another customer-facing technical role, preferably in an industrial market.Experience building long-term customer relationships, uncovering opportunities within existing accounts, and supporting manufacturers' representatives, distributors, or other channel partners.Strong technical aptitude, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills.Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Communicates clearly, concisely, and diplomatically with engineers, purchasing professionals, managers, executives, representatives, and customers.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics, data acquisition systems, filtering techniques, mechanics, and physics.Ability to read electronic schematics and interpret component datasheets; familiarity with electronic assembly and soldering.Experience with military qualification or defense procurement processes is a plus.Real ID-compliant identification or a valid passport for travel is required.BenefitsCompany-funded 25% SEP IRA contribution, in addition to salary, with no employee match requiredAnnual profit-sharing bonusFour weeks of PTOPaid winter break, approximately December 24 through January 2Company-sponsored health insurance, with premiums mostly paid by the companyCompany-funded HSA contributionTuition reimbursementLife insuranceTravel expense reimbursementPlentiful free onsite parkingSilicon Designs, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other status protected by applicable law.
