About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to support the reliability, availability, and operational readiness of offshore vessels and marine assets. This role is responsible for driving vessel uptime, technical performance, maintenance excellence, asset integrity, and lifecycle management through proactive planning, predictive maintenance, technical governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.The successful candidate will act as a key technical partner to Vessel Managers and operational stakeholders, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations while supporting drydock, SPS, major maintenance campaigns, and fleet reliability objectives.What We're Looking ForA technically strong marine professional with a passion for reliability and asset performance.Someone who can balance technical excellence with operational and commercial priorities.A proactive problem-solver capable of identifying risks before they affect operations.A collaborative leader who can work effectively with vessel management teams, contractors, OEMs, and operational stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Asset Reliability & Maintenance ManagementDrive vessel reliability and uptime through effective Planned Maintenance System (PMS) management and preventive maintenance strategies.Review technical performance data and identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.Lead failure investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective actions to eliminate repeat failures and improve asset reliability.Ensure compliance with class, statutory, and company technical requirements.Technical Governance & Fleet SupportEstablish and maintain consistent maintenance and inspection practices across the fleet.Provide technical guidance and support to vessel management teams and onboard personnel.Ensure emergency-critical systems, automation systems, and technical documentation are maintained and up to date.Support technical audits, inspections, and vessel readiness reviews.Drydock, SPS & Major Maintenance ExecutionLead and coordinate Special Periodical Surveys (SPS), drydock projects, port calls, and major maintenance campaigns.Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, testing requirements, and certification activities.Coordinate internal stakeholders, OEMs, contractors, and service providers to ensure successful execution.Monitor project progress and drive timely completion of planned activities.Cost & Performance ManagementMonitor technical expenditure, spare parts management, and maintenance costs to support optimal asset performance.Support budgeting activities and provide recommendations on technical spending priorities.Assess technical risks and evaluate maintenance strategies based on reliability and operational impact.Drive cost efficiency through proactive maintenance and failure prevention initiatives.HSE, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, and company requirements.Maintain technical risk registers and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.Contribute to the standardisation of maintenance, reliability, and asset management practices.QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class I or Class II will be an advantage.Dynamic Positioning (DP) or Automation-related certifications are advantageous.ExperienceMinimum 7–12 years of experience in marine, offshore, or vessel technical management environments.Experience as a Chief Engineer and/or shore-based Technical Superintendent is highly preferred.Proven exposure to drydock execution, SPS planning, vessel maintenance, and asset reliability management.Experience with heavy-lift vessels, pipelay vessels, DSVs, or DP vessels will be an added advantage.
