Technical Support Engineer – FarnboroughHybrid WorkingSalary approx. £30-35k plus excellent benefits We’re recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join an established technology business in Farnborough.This is a varied technical role supporting a mix of hardware, software, networking and Linux/Unix-based systems, including specialist camera technology and associated back-office systems.The roleYou’ll be responsible for:Installing and configuring hardware and softwareDiagnosing and troubleshooting technical faultsSupporting Linux/Unix-based devices and systemsUsing Linux / shell commands to query and diagnose equipmentTroubleshooting networking issues, including TCP/IP and network portsSupporting specialist/proprietary software and systemsInvestigating issues between remote devices and back-office systemsSpeaking directly with customers to resolve technical problemsProducing clear technical documentationEscalating more complex issues where requiredWhat we’re looking forIdeally, you’ll have experience in Technical Support, Systems Support, Infrastructure Support or 2nd Line Support, with exposure to:Linux or UnixShell / command-line troubleshootingNetworking / TCP-IP / network portsHardware and software installation/configurationTechnical fault-findingCustomer-facing supportTechnical documentation
