Technical Team Lead

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Team Lead to guide a team of 3 developers in Melbourne, working on our recruitment tech platform. Whether you lean more Frontend (React) or Backend (Node), as long as you know your way around full-stack JavaScript and love building quality software, we want to hear from you.This is a 70% leadership / 30% hands-on role where you’ll set the tech direction, write code, mentor the team, and help us smarten up our dev workflows with modern AI tools.What you’ll be doing:Lead the team (70%): Own the tech roadmap, coach three awesome devs, partner with Product, and lead architectural decisions.Stay hands-on (30%): Write code, run code reviews, design APIs, and integrate modern systems across React, Node and AWS.Drive quality & delivery: Set high standards for our codebase, handle safe deployments, and jump in to solve complex tech issues when needed.Embrace AI-assisted dev: Lead how we safely use AI dev tools (like Claude Code/Codex) to speed up our builds without sacrificing quality.What you bring:Strong background in JavaScript / TypeScript (React frontend and/or Node backend).Solid architecture, API design, and web app security knowledge.Great communication skills and a passion for mentoring people.Good judgment when using AI dev tools to accelerate building.Bonus points: GraphQL experience.Perks & Culture:We’re an energetic, collaborative bunch who love what we do.
