Technical Training Engineer

Technical Training Engineer Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements. The Role AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Technical Training Engineer for Sukari in Egypt. The role designs and delivers competency-based maintenance technical training through classroom, workshop, and on-the-job training to ensure maintenance personnel can perform critical tasks safely and to standard in line with SOPs, SWIs, and OEM requirements.The Technical Training Engineer conducts theory and practical assessments, compiles auditable evidence packs, maintains accurate training records, and coordinates delivery readiness with Maintenance Supervisors, Planners, and HSES. The role also supports continuous improvement in training effectiveness while escalating capability gaps, repeated assessment failures, and delivery constraints to the Senior Technical Training Engineer.

Location: EgyptContract Type: PermanentSchedule: Day work with periodic extended hours aligned to shutdowns, assessments, and operational priorities The Key Responsibilities Training delivery: Deliver classroom technical training, facilitate practical workshop sessions, and coach learners during on-the-job training to improve task execution quality, safe behaviours, and first-time-right workmanship.Training design and content control: Develop training packages aligned to OEM standards and SOPs/SWIs, and update lesson plans, slides, guides, and practical checklists to reflect equipment changes, incidents, and procedure revisions.Competency assessment and evidence: Conduct theory and practical assessments, document attendance and results, compile traceable evidence packs, and analyse outcomes to identify gaps and recommend coaching or re-assessment.Scheduling and coordination: Coordinate training schedules with supervisors and planners, maintain delivery readiness, and provide progress updates to support planned-versus-actual reviews and corrective follow-up actions.Specialized training support: Deliver authorized material-handling equipment training and support field-based training activities to reinforce correct procedures, safe work practices, and permit readiness.HSE and compliance: Implement risk controls for safe practical demonstrations, integrate hazards and critical controls into training content, maintain records for audits and inspections, and escalate unsafe conditions observed during training.Continuous improvement: Use feedback and results to improve delivery methods, learner engagement, retention, and transfer of performance to the workplace.

The Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical; Electrical is acceptable depending on assigned scope.3–5+ years of heavy equipment or industrial maintenance experience, with mining preferred.1–2+ years of technical training delivery and/or competency assessment exposure preferred.Train-the-Trainer, Instructional Design, Competency Assessor, and relevant OEM technical training certifications preferred.Strong knowledge of heavy equipment or industrial maintenance principles, OEM manuals, SOP/SWI governance, competency-based training, and assessment validity principles.Ability to develop training packages, deliver classroom and practical training, coach during OJT, and maintain complete, audit-ready training evidence and records.Professional English and Arabic language capability for reporting, documentation, vendor interaction, frontline communication, and supervision.Ability to work across office and field environments with flexibility to support shutdowns and urgent training requirements.
