Technical Writer

Role Description This part-time Technical Writer role is a hybrid position based in Dubai, with the flexibility to complete some work from home. The Technical Writer will create, edit, and maintain clear and accurate technical documentation for AURORA’s research tools, processes, and outputs. Day-to-day tasks include drafting manuals and user guides, standard operating procedures, and reference materials; collaborating with researchers and technical staff to translate complex methodologies into accessible content; and organizing documentation in a consistent structure and style. The role also involves reviewing existing documents for clarity and completeness, ensuring adherence to documentation standards, and updating content as tools and workflows evolve.QualificationsAbility to produce high-quality Technical Writing and Technical Documentation that is clear, accurate, and well-structured.Strong skills in Technical Communication to translate complex concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences.Experience creating and maintaining Documentation and Manuals, including user guides, SOPs, and reference materials.Excellent written English, attention to detail, and strong editing and proofreading abilities.Familiarity with academic or research environments, data-driven projects, or analytical tools is an advantage.Comfort working in a hybrid setting in Dubai, managing time effectively and collaborating with remote and on-site team members.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Communication, English, Information Systems, or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience.Proficiency with common documentation tools (e.g., word processors, collaborative platforms, version control or wikis) is beneficial.
