Our mission is to improve society through photonics technology.Role Overview:As a Technician, you’ll provide safe, high-quality, and timely service through hands-on testing, repair, and demonstration of advanced X-ray, camera, NanoZoomer, and laser systems; playing a key part in meeting customer needs while driving internal innovation and operational excellence.Location:This is a hybrid position, based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office.Key Responsibilities:X-ray Testing, Demonstration & SupportPerform digital radiography (DR) and CT inspection demonstrations.Set up and operate industrial X-ray systems and optimize exposure parameters.Evaluate images for defects (e.g., cracks, voids) and prepare reports.Conduct routine maintenance, electronic testing, and basic repairs.Install and update imaging software systems.Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety and maintain exposure recordsCamera Testing, Repair & Demo SupportTroubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies (PCBs, cameras).Perform functional testing and document data in databases.Analyze customer returns and provide repair recommendations.Prepare and maintain demo kits and inventory systems.Maintain test equipment and ensure calibration/operation readiness.NanoZoomer Scanning Lab OperationsScan histology/pathology slides using NanoZoomer systems.Follow SOPs and test plans to ensure data integrity.Evaluate scan quality (focus, completeness, artifacts).Record observations and report issues to technical teams.Maintain lab organization and equipment cleanliness.Laser Product Validation & Testing Validate returned demo units and new laser products.Operate optical benchtop equipment and collect output spectra.Perform basic optical alignment and testing.Follow Class 4 laser safety requirements and procedures.General Technical & Operational SupportSupport engineering projects and cross-functional tasks.Maintain organized lab, warehouse, and demo environments.Assist with inventory control and equipment logisticsRequired Qualifications:Associate degree or equivalent technical training (electronics, imaging, optics, or related field) minimumAbility to read technical drawings and work instructions and ability to record data and document2+ years of experience in technical testing, hardware repair, or lab environmentSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyRadiation safety, Laser safetyESD, RoHS, or general lab safety knowledgeExperience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, function generator)Basic understanding of imaging systems, electronics, or optical systemsSoftware installation and system configurationAttention to detailWilling to travel for workPreferred Qualifications:4-year technical degree preferredLaser safety (Class 4 preferred)Experience with CT / DR X-ray systemsExperience with digital cameras or imaging devicesFamiliarity with optical/laser systems and alignmentLab experience (pathology, microscopy, or imaging)ASNT Level II RT certification (Radiographic Testing) is preferredPay RangeThe target base salary for this role at commencement of employment is expected to be between $52,000 - $65,000 annually.
