Our client isn't just delivering food and groceries; they are solving one of the most complex "travelling salesperson" problems in existence at an unprecedented scale.The Role:As a Senior OR Scientist, you will transition beyond theoretical modeling into the creation of production-grade automated decision engines. You will be responsible for building robust optimization models (MIP, Stochastic, and Metaheuristics) that dictate how millions of deliveries are managed daily.Key Responsibilities: System Architecture: Build and deploy large-scale scheduling and capacity planning systems that operate in dynamic, real-world environments. Algorithmic Development: Utilize Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) and decomposition techniques to solve complex resource allocation problems. Performance Engineering: Apply (meta)heuristic methods to ensure high-quality solutions even when exact methods face scaling bottlenecks. Production Lifecycle: Own the full journey of a model—from initial hypothesis and historical benchmarking to CI/CD integration and live production monitoring. Leadership & Influence: Mentor junior scientists and act as a bridge between data science, software engineering, and business stakeholders.Candidate Profile: Technical Mastery: Extensive experience in Python, specifically targeting object-oriented programming (clean, type-safe code) and optimization libraries (e.g., Pyomo, Gurobi, PuLP, or SCIP). Software Discipline: Strong background in modern dev-ops practices, including Docker, Git, and automated testing pipelines. Analytical Depth: Comfortable navigating complex geographic data, labor contracts, and time-discrete constraints. Problem Solver: A preference for scalable, pragmatic solutions over "complexity for complexity’s sake."
