Ltd. is looking for an experienced Technology Trainer & Capability Development Consultant to strengthen the technical capabilities of our engineering and technology teams.This is not a conventional coding-trainer position. We are looking for someone with broad exposure to how modern technology companies build, test, deploy, secure and maintain software products.The consultant does not need to be an expert programmer across every language or framework. However, they must have a strong conceptual and practical understanding of modern technology stacks, be comfortable discussing architecture and implementation approaches with developers, and be capable of training teams on engineering standards, tools, workflows, processes and best practices.The role will work across Software Engineering, AI/ML, Quality Assurance, DevOps, Cloud, APIs, Databases, Security, Product Engineering and Software Delivery.Key Responsibilities1. Technical Training & Capability DevelopmentAssess the existing technical knowledge and skill levels of employees across different technology functions.Identify individual and team-level skill gaps and create structured training and upskilling plans.Conduct classroom, workshop, hands-on and project-oriented technical training sessions.Develop structured learning paths for junior, mid-level and senior technical resources.Create assessments, assignments, practical exercises and evaluation mechanisms.Measure improvement after training and provide periodic capability reports to management.Help establish a continuous technical learning culture within the organisation.2. Software Development & Technology StackThe trainer should have good working knowledge of modern software-development technologies and understand when, why and where different technologies are used.Expected exposure should include:Frontend: React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS and modern frontend architecture.Backend: Node.js, Python and modern backend/application frameworks.APIs: REST APIs, webhooks, third-party integrations, authentication and API testing.Databases: SQL, PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis and general database concepts.Architecture: Microservices, modular architecture, event-driven systems, scalability and distributed applications.Source Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab, branching strategies, pull requests and code-review workflows.Understanding of coding standards, documentation, debugging, error handling and engineering best practices.Deep hands-on coding expertise across all technologies is not mandatory. The consultant should, however, be technically strong enough to understand the technology, explain its application, review approaches and guide developers toward appropriate engineering practices.3. AI, ML & LLM TechnologiesProvide foundational and intermediate capability development around:Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.Large Language Models (LLMs).Generative AI applications.Prompt engineering and structured prompting.RAG and knowledge-retrieval architectures.Vector databases and embeddings.AI APIs and model integrations.AI agents and agentic workflows.AI-enabled automation.Model evaluation, hallucination management and responsible AI practices.Integration of AI capabilities into SaaS and enterprise applications.The objective is not necessarily to train employees as AI researchers, but to ensure technology teams understand how AI capabilities can practically be incorporated into software products and workflows.4. Quality Assurance & TestingThe consultant should be capable of training and guiding teams on:Software testing lifecycle and QA methodologies.Manual and automated testing.Functional, regression, integration and system testing.API testing.UI and cross-browser testing.Performance and load testing concepts.Test-case and test-scenario design.Bug reporting, severity and priority classification.Automation frameworks and tools.QA integration within Agile and CI/CD environments.Quality metrics and release-readiness practices.5. DevOps, Cloud & InfrastructureProvide training and practical guidance around:CI/CD concepts and implementation.Git-based deployment workflows.Docker and containerisation.Kubernetes fundamentals.AWS and other major cloud platforms.Cloud infrastructure fundamentals.Linux/server fundamentals.Environment management across development, staging and production.Infrastructure monitoring and logging.Application deployment and rollback practices.Secrets and configuration management.Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.DevSecOps fundamentals.6. Application Security & Engineering Best PracticesTrain teams on essential secure-development practices including:Authentication and authorisation.API security.OWASP principles.Secure coding awareness.Data protection.Access controls and permissions.Secrets and credential management.Vulnerability awareness.Dependency and package security.Security considerations throughout the software-development lifecycle.7. Software Development Lifecycle & Agile DeliveryThe trainer should help technical employees understand how individual functions come together across the complete technology-delivery lifecycle:Requirement → Architecture → UI/UX → Development → Code Review → Testing → Security → Deployment → Monitoring → Maintenance → Continuous ImprovementTraining should also cover:Agile and Scrum methodologies.Sprint planning and estimation.Technical documentation.Jira/project-management practices.Code-review discipline.Release management.Incident and defect management.Cross-functional collaboration.Engineering ownership and accountability.Training ApproachWe are specifically looking for someone who believes in practical, implementation-oriented training rather than purely theoretical instruction.Training should include:Live workshops.Real-world technology scenarios.Hands-on exercises.Existing-project examples wherever appropriate.Technical quizzes and assessments.Assignments and mini-projects.Architecture and problem-solving discussions.Code and process walkthroughs.Case studies based on actual software-development challenges.Pre-training and post-training assessments.The consultant should be able to differentiate training based on employee experience and role rather than delivering identical programmes to everyone.Capability Assessment & ReportingAn important part of this engagement will be establishing measurable technical capability.The consultant will be expected to:Conduct initial skill-gap assessments.Establish competency matrices by technology and role.Categorise employees by proficiency levels.Recommend individual learning paths.Conduct periodic technical assessments.Identify employees requiring additional mentoring or training.Track progress against defined learning objectives.Provide management with periodic training and capability reports.Preferred Candidate ProfileWe would prefer candidates with backgrounds such as:Senior Technology Trainer / Technical Trainer.Technical Architect or Solution Architect with training experience.Engineering Manager with strong mentoring capabilities.Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead who has transitioned into training.DevOps/Cloud professional with broad software-engineering exposure.Corporate technology trainer with experience training software-development teams.Technology consultant with experience across multiple stages of the software-development lifecycle.Skills & ExperienceThe ideal candidate should have:8+ years of overall technology industry experience, preferably with significant training, mentoring or capability-development exposure.Broad understanding of modern software engineering and product-development environments.Strong understanding of frontend, backend, databases, APIs, cloud, DevOps and QA concepts.Working knowledge of AI/ML, LLMs and modern AI-enabled application development.Understanding of modern SaaS and enterprise application architecture.Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple and practical terms.Ability to interact effectively with developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, AI/ML teams, project managers and senior management.Experience creating technical assessments, competency frameworks and training programmes.Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills.Ability to independently identify skill gaps and recommend corrective training.What We Are NOT Looking ForThis position is not intended for a trainer specialising in only one programming language or technology.For example, someone whose training experience is limited exclusively to Java, Python, React or manual testing may not be suitable.We need a technology generalist with sufficient depth to understand how different engineering disciplines work together and the ability to bring specialist trainers or learning resources into the programme where deeper subject-matter expertise is required.Engagement ModelThis is a consulting engagement with Ishvara Tech Consulting Pvt.
