Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, test, and maintain facility telecommunications systems (as applicable):Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A), fiber termination/patchingData/telecom networks and in-building switching/routing componentsWi-Fi access points and related controllersVoIP systems (PBX/IP phones) and SIP trunk support (if applicable)CCTV/IP network components (if part of telecom scope)Perform troubleshooting for connectivity issues (WAN/LAN/in-building network, Wi‑Fi coverage, call/audio quality).Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections of telecom rooms, cabinets, and cabling pathways.Manage spare parts inventory and track service/repair history for telecom equipment.Coordinate with ISP/service providers and internal stakeholders for service activation, changes, and escalations.Create and maintain documentation:As-built drawings/diagrams, labeling standards, cable mapsConfiguration backups and change logsService reports, checklists, and maintenance recordsEnsure telecom installations comply with safety, fire/life-safety, and cabling standards used by the company/landlord/client.Assist with capacity upgrades (AP adds, switch upgrades, patch panel expansion, fiber expansion).Support audits and ensure compliance with internal SLA/SLR requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Telecommunications/Computer Networking/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.2+ years of experience supporting telecom networks and cabling in commercial/industrial facilities (or equivalent).Hands-on experience with:Structured cabling installation/testing (e.g., cable testers)Basic IP networking concepts (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing fundamentals)Wi‑Fi troubleshooting (coverage, channel planning basics)Ability to read technical drawings and follow structured work instructions.Preferred QualificationsExperience with VoIP/PBX systems and SIP troubleshooting.Familiarity with network monitoring tools and basic performance testing.Vendor exposure: Cisco/Meraki/Ubiquiti/Fortinet/Ruckus/Huawei (specify if you prefer).Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, or vendor Wi‑Fi/cabling certifications).Skills & CompetenciesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Customer service mindset and professionalism when working onsite.Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders (facility managers, tenants, operations).Ability to work safely in telecom rooms and perform light field work.
