Job Description

Although the area of specialization is open, the department is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research expertise falls within one of the following areas:Forensic psychology or psychology and lawNeurodevelopment/neurodiversity within a neuropsychology, biological psychology, health psychology, school psychology, or educational psychology framework

Job Responsibilities

Teaching Load: 21 credits per year, including:Introductory psychology coursesCourses in the candidate's area of specializationOther foundational courses in the psychology majorOpportunity to develop new courses for the curriculumResearch:Engage undergraduates in an active research program within the departmentResearch support available through various University funding sourcesDemonstrate the potential to maintain an active program of scholarship appropriate to the University's teaching-focused mission and provide meaningful opportunities for undergraduate research participationService Responsibilities:Academic advising for studentsProvide mentorshipParticipation in departmental and University activitiesServing on University governance committeesRequirementsDoctorate in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution; candidates who are ABD on track to confer their degree by August 2027 will be consideredTeaching or research expertise in one of the department's priority areas (e.g., biological, cognitive, social, sociocultural, developmental, clinical)Evidence of, or demonstrated potential for, excellence in undergraduate teachingCommitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgroundsPotential to maintain an active research program involving undergraduate studentsCommitment to departmental service and University governanceLegal authorization to work in the United States at the time of appointment (the University is unable to provide employment-visa sponsorship for this position)Preferred QualificationsTeaching or research expertise in forensic psychology or psychology and law; orTeaching or research expertise involving neurodivergent populations within neuropsychology, biological psychology, health psychology, school psychology, or educational psychology frameworks.
