Test Automation Engineer - Java, selenium and API Testing Edinburgh, UK | Hybrid – 2 days in the office Salary: Up to £50,000 + 10% pensionFull-time | PermanentTechnologyJava | Selenium | Postman | REST APIsEssential RequirementsWe are looking for an experienced automation tester with:- Hands-on experience writing automation code using Java and Selenium.- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.- Experience building, maintaining or improving automated regression test suites.- Strong understanding of end-to-end, system integration and manual testing.- The ability to identify testing priorities, assess risks and investigate defects.- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.Banking experience is not essential. AWS experience is not required. Candidates from other sectors are welcome.The OpportunityJoin a long-term technology programme within the Retail Lending and Retail Digital business of a leading UK banking group.You will support the testing of an overdraft service that helps bank colleagues assist customers in managing their overdrafts. With ongoing technology upgrades and a substantial testing backlog, you will play an important role in improving automation coverage, strengthening regression testing and supporting reliable software delivery.What You’ll Do- Develop and maintain automated tests using Java and Selenium.- Test REST APIs and system integrations.- Build robust, reusable regression test suites.- Plan testing activities and prioritise based on risk.- Support system upgrades, application changes and data remediation.- Investigate defects and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.- Recommend improvements to automation frameworks, tools and testing approaches.The team expects to transition towards AWS over the next one to two years.
