Theater-Musical Director

Holy Trinity School, a Catholic elementary school in the Jesuit Tradition, is seeking a Part-Time, After School, Director for our school Musical Production.Position OverviewHoly Trinity School seeks an enthusiastic, experienced, and student-centered Director for our Middle School Musical Production in Spring 2027. This part-time, after-school position will lead students in the creative and theatrical process of producing a high-quality musical while fostering collaboration, confidence, creativity, discipline, and a strong sense of community.The ideal candidate will have experience directing or producing musical theater with middle-school-aged students and will bring both theatrical expertise and a genuine appreciation for working with young people. Experience working in a Catholic or Jesuit educational environment is welcomed and valued.The Director will:Lead the overall artistic and theatrical direction of the Spring 2027 middle school musical.Collaborate with school administration, faculty, production staff, and families to plan and execute the production.Participate in production staff meetings beginning as soon as possible to establish the production calendar, artistic vision, staffing, rehearsal schedule, and technical needs.Prepare for and lead student auditions in December 2026, including casting and communicating roles to students and families.Develop and lead an after-school rehearsal schedule from casting through the Spring 2027 performances.Direct student actors in character development, blocking, ensemble work, and stage performance.Collaborate with music and technical staff on choreography, music, sets, costumes, props, lighting, sound, and other production elements.Create a rehearsal environment that is organized, inclusive, joyful, appropriately challenging, and supportive of students with a range of theatrical experience.Help students develop confidence, responsibility, perseverance, collaboration, and respect for one another.Communicate regularly with school leadership and production staff regarding rehearsal progress, student needs, and production logistics.Lead dress rehearsals and performances and help ensure the successful execution of the production.Serve as a positive role model for students and contribute to the school's mission of educating the whole person.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience directing or producing musical theater.Experience working with middle-school-aged students.Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.Ability to create a positive and structured rehearsal environment.Availability for after-school rehearsals and Spring 2027 performances.Commitment to the safety, dignity, and well-being of students.Experience directing middle-school or school-based musical productions.Experience collaborating with student performers, music directors, choreographers, and technical production teams.Experience in a Catholic, Jesuit, or faith-based school environment.Familiarity with the developmental needs of adolescents and an interest in using theater as a vehicle for student growth and community-building.TimelineFall 2026: Production planning and staff meetings begin as soon as possible.December 2026: Student auditions and casting.Winter–Spring 2027: After-school rehearsals and production preparation.Spring 2027: Technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances.
