We look for team members who are passionate about driving academic growth and fostering an inclusive, structured, and engaging learning environment.Position:  Title I Tutor - MathLocation:  Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy Why Your Work Matters HereEducating the Whole Child: Students participate in daily structured physical education - including martial arts, tennis, and soccer - as part of our whole-child approach to education.Character-Driven Culture: We teach daily lessons on respect, responsibility, and teamwork, reinforced by a structured uniform policy.Impact-Focused Environment: Our smaller, supportive classrooms ensure no child slips through the cracks, allowing you to truly personalize learning.Supportive Leadership: Our school leaders are highly visible and focused on helping teachers succeed through coaching, collaboration, and responsive support.What You’ll DoAcademic InterventionProvide individualized and small-group reading and mathematics intervention for eligible K–8 students.Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction using Performance Academies' approved curriculum and instructional resources.Differentiate instruction to address individual learning needs and close academic gaps.Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to improve student achievement.Reinforce classroom learning and support students in mastering grade-level standards.Assessment & Progress MonitoringUse formative and summative assessment data to identify learning needs and personalize instruction.Monitor student growth and maintain accurate intervention schedules, progress monitoring data, and instructional records.Collaborate with teachers and administrators to evaluate student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.Support school-wide academic improvement initiatives through data-driven decision making.Student SupportBuild positive relationships that encourage student confidence, engagement, and academic success.Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.Support students' social-emotional growth while reinforcing school-wide behavior expectations.Ensure student safety and comply with all mandatory reporting requirements.Collaboration & Family EngagementCollaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, intervention teams, and administrators to coordinate student support.Participate in IAT and IEP meetings as requested.Communicate student progress with families and school staff.Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative team meetings.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education or a related field.Valid Ohio teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure.Experience working with elementary or middle school students preferred.Strong understanding of reading and mathematics instruction, intervention strategies, and data-driven decision making.Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and instructional technology.Preferred Knowledge & SkillsExperience providing academic intervention or tutoring in reading and/or mathematics.Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based intervention strategies.Ability to analyze assessment data and develop targeted instructional plans.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.Work EnvironmentRegular use of instructional technology and classroom equipment.Frequent collaboration with students, families, and school staff.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. What We OfferWe are proud to offer a total compensation package that supports the health, wellness and livelihood of our staff. All health benefits begin day one of employment! Three comprehensive medical plans to choose from with significant company contribution towards premiumDental InsuranceVision InsuranceCompany-Paid Basic Life, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability insuranceVoluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness and Hospitalization Coverage availableSTRS participation for all school-based positionsMultiple scheduled holiday breaksPTO & personal daysWe offer competitive salaries and annual cost of living adjustments, as well as performance bonus potential (based on enrollment and academic performance).   Join the BEST school in the Neighborhood!If you're passionate about helping students achieve academically, grow in character, and discover their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
