Tooling Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Technician with hands-on plastic injection molding tooling experience to maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and improve injection molds. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and mold repair skills, along with experience using CNC, EDM, and milling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plastic injection molding tools and molds.Perform preventive mold maintenance and minor engineering changes.Read and interpret tooling prints, hydraulic circuit prints, and electrical diagrams.Operate machine shop equipment, including CNC, EDM, and milling machines.Support process and plant engineering teams with tooling improvements.Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and 8D problem-solving activities.Maintain accurate records of tooling repairs, modifications, and maintenance.Follow all company safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.Required Qualifications:Must have hands-on plastic injection molding tooling experience.Experience repairing and maintaining injection molds.Ability to read tooling prints, hydraulic circuit prints, and electrical diagrams.Technical training or hands-on experience with CNC, EDM, and milling machines.Experience operating machine shop equipment.Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and independent mold repair skills.Must have a personal toolbox and appropriate mold-making/tool repair tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Mold-making experience.Experience in a plastic injection molding production environment.Experience with engineering changes to injection molds.Root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D problem-solving experience.
