Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the RoleWe are hiring a Trade Compliance Manager on behalf of our client for a fully remote position based in the Czech Republic.The role is responsible for ensuring that import and export activities across the European region comply with applicable trade regulations. You will work closely with global operations, internal trade compliance teams, and customers to provide practical guidance on complex international trade requirements.This is a highly specialized position supporting a U.S.-based organization serving high-tech manufacturers, so strong expertise in U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), EU dual-use controls, and high-tech service logistics is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesManage Harmonized Tariff classifications and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) across multiple companies and countries.Support the development, maintenance, and adjustment of trade compliance rules within Trade Compliance Management systems.Review and manage product information, including classifications, data sheets, test reports, certifications, and import/export licenses.Provide procedural guidance to global operations teams and assist with resolving import and export compliance issues.Collaborate with internal departments to monitor compliance with local regulations and record-retention requirements.Conduct audits of import and export clearance documentation.Identify potential compliance issues, risks, and red flags.Develop practical solutions to reduce compliance risks while supporting business objectives.Lead consultative conversations with customers and provide education and guidance on trade compliance matters.Support compliance requirements relating to repairs, returns, RMAs, service spare parts, technical data, and software moving across international borders.Key Areas of ExpertiseThe successful candidate should have significant experience with:U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including:Export, re-export, and transfer rulesECCN classificationExport authorizationsDe minimis rulesForeign Direct Product (FDP) rulesEnd-use and end-user controlsEU Dual-Use Regulation and applicable national laws.Technology, software, and encryption controls.Global customs practices and trade restrictions.FCPA and anti-boycott requirements.Incoterms 2020.Trade Compliance Management Systems.Corporate Work Instructions and compliance procedures.Industry & Product ExperienceExperience in a high-tech or service logistics environment is required, particularly involving:Repairs and returns/RMAsService spare partsInternational logisticsHigh-tech productsSemiconductorsAdvanced computingTelecommunicationsNetworking infrastructureExperience with data protection is an advantage.Customer & Regional ScopeProvide trade compliance guidance to customers across multiple EMEA countries.Support operations across different jurisdictions and regulatory environments.Communicate complex compliance requirements clearly to both internal teams and external customers.Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Requirements5+ years of trade compliance experience.Extensive knowledge of U.S. EAR and EU dual-use controls.Experience with ECCN classification and export authorization requirements.Experience with de minimis and FDP rules.Experience with end-use and end-user controls.Significant experience in high-tech products and/or service logistics involving repairs, RMAs, and spare parts.Experience supporting trade compliance across multiple EMEA countries.Experience developing Corporate Work Instructions.Experience using Trade Compliance Management Systems.Knowledge of global customs, trade restrictions, FCPA, anti-boycott legislation, and Incoterms 2020.Excellent English communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex and competing priorities.Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.Working Arrangement
