Joining GIC offers exposure to both local and international gem certification practices within a respected, quality-focused organization.Role Description The Trainee Executive – Administration & Operations will support the smooth running of day-to-day administrative and operational activities at GIC. This full-time, on-site role based in Colombo includes coordinating office workflows, assisting with documentation and record maintenance, and supporting operational procedures related to gem testing and certification. The role involves communicating with internal teams and customers, preparing reports, handling inquiries, and ensuring timely completion of administrative tasks. The Trainee Executive will work closely with senior staff to learn and follow established processes, contribute to service quality, and assist in continuous improvement initiatives. This position is designed for individuals seeking to build a career in administration and operations within the gems and jewellery services sector.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to handle internal and external stakeholders professionally.Candidates should possess Operations and Operations Management skills to support daily workflows and administrative processes efficiently.Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to review data, prepare basic reports, and help improve operational procedures.Candidates should have good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Candidates should be proficient in basic office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets) and comfortable working in a structured environment.A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field would be beneficial; prior internship or entry-level experience in administration or operations is an advantage.Interest in the gems and jewellery industry and willingness to learn gemological processes will be considered an asset
