Training & Development Specialist – ContractLocation: Maryland/DC AreaWork Arrangement: Hybrid – 4 days onsite, Fridays remoteContract: Approximately 12 months, with potential for extensionSchedule: Full-timeStart: ASAPWe are currently recruiting for a Training & Development Specialist to join a busy Talent Development team on a full-time contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced learning and development professional who enjoys facilitating training, managing programs, partnering with internal teams, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with internal teams to understand their needs, develop and coordinate learning solutions, facilitate sessions, and ensure programs are successfully executed and evaluated.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, team effectiveness sessions, and other learning experiencesPartner with internal teams and HR stakeholders to understand training needs and develop appropriate solutionsManage training and development projects from initial intake through planning, delivery, evaluation, and reportingBuild and prepare presentation materials, facilitator guides, communications, and other training resourcesCoordinate existing training programs, vendors, schedules, participant communications, and logisticsSend invitations, reminders, pre-work, follow-ups, and program updates to participantsTrack attendance, participation, survey responses, feedback, and training completionCollect and analyze training data to identify trends and opportunities for improvementWork with vendors on day-to-day coordination and ensure programs stay on trackSupport learning and development programs and provide occasional backup support for LMS administrationCoordinate surveys and employee listening initiatives, including distribution, tracking, reporting, and follow-upOwn multiple projects and programs while managing competing priorities and deadlinesSupport organizational development and employee engagement initiatives as neededAssist with event planning, communications, and other Talent & Culture initiativesQualifications4+ years of relevant experience in Training & Development, Learning & Development, Organizational Effectiveness, HR, corporate training, communications, or program managementStrong experience facilitating training, workshops, or team sessionsExcellent presentation and communication skillsProven ability to manage projects and take ownership of programs from beginning to endStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work closely with internal stakeholders and understand their business and training needsExperience coordinating with external vendors and tracking program participation and resultsStrong Microsoft Office and collaboration technology skillsComfortable using AI tools in a professional environmentBachelor's degree preferred; Business, Psychology, HR, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field is a plusPreferred ExperienceTraining design or instructional design experienceKnowledge of ADDIE, SAM, or other instructional design frameworksExperience with learning management systems (LMS)Experience with employee listening or survey platformsFamiliarity with assessment tools such as DiSC, Predictive Index, Hogan, or Korn FerryExperience working in a corporate or matrixed environmentExperience with Canva or internal communications platforms
