Role Description The Director role at Applied Materials India is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, setting strategic direction, and driving execution across engineering, operations, and digital solutions aligned with global business objectives. The Director oversees program and portfolio management, resource planning, and delivery quality, while ensuring adherence to safety, compliance, and corporate governance standards. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with global stakeholders, defining and tracking performance metrics, guiding innovation initiatives, and making data-driven decisions on budgets, investments, and technology roadmaps. The Director also mentors senior leaders, builds high-performing teams, and supports a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.QualificationsStrong leadership and people management skills, including experience leading senior managers, developing talent, and fostering inclusive, high-performance teams.Proven strategic planning and execution capabilities, with experience in portfolio management, program governance, and aligning technology initiatives with business outcomes.Robust background in engineering, materials science, semiconductor manufacturing, or advanced technology domains, with the ability to engage deeply in technical and operational discussions.Experience in digital transformation, IT infrastructure, or enterprise solutions, including working with global stakeholders and partner ecosystems.Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence at executive levels and collaborate across regions and functions.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with comfort using data and metrics to guide priorities and measure performance.Demonstrated experience managing budgets, optimizing resources, and driving operational efficiency and quality improvements.Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent leadership education is an advantage.Prior experience in a director-level or equivalent leadership role within semiconductor, high-tech, or complex manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
