Transmission Planning Engineer

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the overall transmission line engineering, design, planning, and execution functions.Oversee the design and development of transmission lines across 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, 765kV and higher voltage levels.Manage end-to-end transmission line projects, from feasibility studies and route surveys to commissioning and handover.Provide technical leadership for tower design, foundation engineering, conductor selection, stringing, and line configuration.Review and approve engineering drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, and project documentation.Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards, statutory regulations, and utility requirements.Lead project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, cost control, and project scheduling.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.Manage client relationships, consultants, contractors, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.Identify technical and execution risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.Monitor project progress, resolve critical technical issues, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.Drive quality assurance, safety standards, and operational excellence across transmission line projects.Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and project management teams.Support business development activities, including technical presentations, tender reviews, estimation, and proposal preparation.Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, project delivery, and cost optimisation.Desired Candidate Profile15+ years of experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.Strong experience in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission line projects.Hands-on expertise in 220kV, 400kV, 765kV and above transmission line projects.Experience in transmission line engineering, tower design, foundation design, route alignment, and execution.Proven track record of managing large-scale transmission line projects.Strong understanding of transmission line standards, regulations, and utility requirements.Experience in managing large engineering teams, project budgets, and multiple stakeholders.Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.Key SkillsTransmission Line Engineering & DesignEHV / HV Transmission ProjectsTower & Foundation DesignRoute Survey & AlignmentProject Planning & ExecutionEPC Project ManagementQuality & Safety ManagementClient & Stakeholder ManagementTeam LeadershipTendering & Contract Management
