Travel Agency Operations Manager

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Senior Travel Operations Specialist to play a key role in establishing and launching a new B2B travel agency in Dubai.This is not a traditional travel consultant or ticketing position. We are seeking someone who has hands-on experience with the operational and commercial setup of a travel agency and can coordinate with airlines, IATA, GDS providers, and other industry stakeholders to ensure a successful launch.The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of travel operations with the ability to manage projects, coordinate multiple parties, and establish efficient business processes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the operational setup of the travel agency from inception to launch.Coordinate the IATA accreditation process and maintain relationships with IATA and airline partners.Manage the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Amadeus GDS platform.Liaise with airlines, consolidators, technology providers, payment partners, and other travel industry stakeholders.Develop operational procedures, workflows, and internal policies for the agency.Assist in selecting and implementing travel technology solutions and back-office systems.Ensure compliance with airline, IATA, and local regulatory requirements.Support management with strategic decisions related to travel operations and commercial partnerships.Train and support future travel consultants and operational staff.Oversee day-to-day operational activities during the agency launch phase.RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in the travel industry.Strong experience working with Amadeus GDS.Thorough knowledge of IATA standards, procedures, and accreditation requirements.Previous experience setting up, launching, or managing a travel agency is highly preferred.Experience coordinating with airlines, GDS providers, travel technology vendors, and industry partners.Strong understanding of BSP processes, airline ticketing, fare construction, and agency operations.Excellent project coordination and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and drive initiatives from concept to implementation.Strong communication skills in English and SpanishPreferred QualificationsPrevious managerial or operations leadership experience.Experience implementing travel ERP, mid-office, or back-office systems.Existing relationships within the airline or travel industry are an advantage.Experience working in the UAE or GCC travel market is preferred.What We're Looking ForWe are seeking someone who understands that building a travel agency involves much more than issuing airline tickets.
