Job PurposeThe Treasury Officer is responsible for managing daily treasury operations, monitoring cash and bank balances, processing banking transactions, performing bank and cash reconciliations, and ensuring accurate recording of cash movements and payment activities.The role supports the Finance Department by maintaining proper control over company liquidity, monitoring customer payment collections, ensuring timely allocation of received payments, managing cheque transactions, and maintaining complete documentation for all treasury activities.The position ensures accuracy of cash and bank records, compliance with company financial procedures, timely reporting, and effective coordination with internal departments and banking partners.Key Responsibilities1. Cash & Bank Balance MonitoringResponsibilities:Prepare and monitor daily cash and bank balances.Review bank account positions and available cash resources.Prepare daily cash and bank balance reports.Ensure reports are accurate and submitted within required timelines.Highlight significant cash movements or balance issues to the Finance Manager.2. Customer Payment Verification & AllocationResponsibilities:Verify customer payments received through bank confirmations.Match received payments with customer accounts and outstanding invoices.Allocate customer payments accurately in the ERP system.Ensure sales invoices are closed after payment confirmation.Follow up on unmatched or unidentified customer payments.Prepare daily payment allocation reports.3. Bank Reconciliation ManagementResponsibilities:Perform daily bank reconciliations for company bank accounts.Reconcile bank statements with ERP records.Investigate and resolve differences between bank records and accounting entries.Maintain accurate bank reconciliation reports.Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled with no unexplained variances.4. Bank Transfers ProcessingResponsibilities:Process approved bank transfers according to company procedures.Verify authorization requirements before processing payments.Maintain complete supporting documents for all bank transfers.Update bank transfer logs and payment records.Ensure all transfers are processed accurately and on time.5. Cash Reconciliation & Cash ControlResponsibilities:Perform daily cash account reconciliations.Verify cash transactions and supporting documents.Prepare cash reconciliation reports.Investigate cash differences and report unresolved variances.Maintain proper control over cash movements.6. Cash Payment ProcessingResponsibilities:Process and record approved cash payments.Verify payment documents and approvals before recording transactions.Maintain accurate cash payment records.Prepare cash payment reports.Ensure all cash transactions are properly documented.7. Accounts Payable Cheque ManagementResponsibilities:Manage supplier cheques and payment schedules.Prepare AP cheque registers.Monitor supplier payment due dates.Coordinate with Finance and Procurement teams regarding payment requirements.Ensure supplier payments are processed on or before due dates.8. Accounts Receivable Cheque ManagementResponsibilities:Receive and record customer cheques.Maintain AR cheque registers.Monitor cheque maturity dates.Ensure timely bank deposits of received cheques.Follow up on pending customer cheque collections.Prepare cheque deposit reports.9. Treasury Reporting & DocumentationResponsibilities:Prepare daily and periodic treasury reports.Maintain proper filing of bank documents, payment records, and reconciliation reports.Support audit requirements by providing complete treasury documentation.Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial information.10. Month-End Closing SupportResponsibilities:Support month-end closing activities related to treasury transactions.Ensure outstanding reconciliation items are identified and communicated.Assist the Finance Team with required treasury schedules and reports.11. Other Finance ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.Support improvement of treasury processes and internal controls.Follow company policies, procedures, and financial approval requirements.AuthorityThe Treasury Officer is authorized to:Perform treasury transactions according to approved procedures.Request required banking and payment documents from relevant departments.Coordinate with internal departments regarding treasury matters.Maintain treasury records and reports.Report cash, bank, and payment issues to the Finance Manager.Recommend improvements to treasury processes.
