Apply & track with Apply EdgeJACT Classics Camp is seeking tutors and a director's assistant for 2027!ABOUT USJACT Classics Camp is a six-day residential summer school for learners aged 16 to 19, held at Denstone College in Staffordshire. Our 2027 dates are 26th-31st July.The camp offers an intensive and supportive environment for studying Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation, and Ancient History, with a programme that is reviewed and expanded each year. Students can choose from a wide range of topics, from Ancient Persia and Greek Religion to Love Poetry and Plato’s Philosophy, alongside structured language teaching for both beginners and advanced learners. The camp experience includes academic sessions, guest lectures, a university fair, quizzes, and student-produced plays, fostering both intellectual curiosity and a strong sense of community. Supported by the Joint Association of Classical Teachers and local Classical Associations, JACT Classics Camp provides generous bursaries to ensure broad access and attracts many students who return year after year.Learn more on our website: https://jactclassicscamp.wordpress.com/...TUTORABOUT YOUConfident teacher or researcher in Classics or closely related fields. Pastoral, SEN, or residential experience is a benefit.The ideal person would be adaptable, warm, and energetic.ABOUT THE ROLEAttend a pre-course briefing and daily briefings at Classics Camp.Familiarise yourself with all key policies before the course.Plan and teach 4 sessions per day.Be available to support during free periods when needed.Support with our whole-school Session 6 activities.Help to lead our evening drama productions.Take responsibility for lesson registration and nighttime sign-in as well as general student well-being.Support with student arrivals and departures....DIRECTOR'S ASSISTANTABOUT YOUAdvanced undergraduate/postgraduate student or (prospective) trainee Classics teacher. Only for alumni who have not attended as students in at least 2 years.Interest in purusing a Classics career and relevant experience is desirable.ABOUT THE ROLEAttend a pre-course briefing and daily briefings at Classics Camp.Familiarise yourself with all key policies before the course.Support the staff with the day to day running of the school.Shadow sessions and act as a TA.Support with social media and promotion during the week.Ideally take ownership of aspects of Session 6 and evening activities....Email jactclassicscamp@gmail.com by 1st December to express interest or for more information.
