Its culture is rooted in improving lives and creating inclusive opportunities for learners.Role Description The Tutor role at PHX Training is a full-time, on-site position based in Barrow-in-Furness. The Tutor will deliver engaging, learner-centered training sessions, using a range of teaching methods and materials to support different learning styles. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and preparing lessons, assessing learner progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records and documentation. The Tutor will offer pastoral support, help learners overcome barriers to learning, and work closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality provision and compliance with awarding body and organizational standards. The role also involves contributing to the continuous improvement of programs and participating in meetings, reviews, and professional development activities.Qualifications Relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent) and experience delivering group and one-to-one learning.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse learners.Experience in learner assessment and feedback, including the use of appropriate assessment methods and maintenance of accurate records.Ability to plan and structure lessons, manage classroom environments, and adapt teaching strategies to different levels and needs.Good organizational and time-management skills, with proficiency in basic IT tools (e.g., MS Office, virtual learning platforms).Knowledge of employability skills, vocational training, or adult education sectors is highly beneficial.Commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding, with an understanding of inclusive teaching practices.Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment or education and a strong focus on learner outcomes and progression.
