Tweel Operator

Job Summary: Obeikan Glass Company is seeking an experienced Tweel Operator to join our Float Glass Production team. The candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring the tweel system to ensure a stable molten glass flow, maintaining critical process parameters, and supporting safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the glass manufacturing industry, preferably in a float glass plant.Key Responsibilities:Operate and monitor the Tweel and Top Rolls to ensure a stable and continuous molten glass flow in the tin bath.Maintain the specified working end and tin bath temperatures, along with other process parameters through the Distributed Control System (DCS) to achieve production targets.Conduct routine field inspections and report any equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities.Coordinate with the Furnace, Tin Bath, Lehr, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure optimum product quality and production yield.Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures during plant operations.Record operational data accurately and support effective shift handovers.Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment-related issues.Maintain good housekeeping standards (5S) and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Root Cause Analysis.Qualifications:Diploma in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Minimum 5 years of experience as a Tweel Operator or in a similar production role within a Float Glass Manufacturing plant.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of float glass production processes.Experience operating Tweel and Top Roll equipment.DCS operation and process monitoring.Process troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.Good communication and reporting skills.Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.Ability to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment.
