We don't sell dashboards nobody uses. We ship tools that directly improve EBITDA for clients who run real operations. This role sits at the intersection of that work: part diagnostician, part builder, part trusted advisor. The RoleThis full-time UI/UX Design Consultant role focuses on designing intuitive, effective interfaces for AI-driven operational tools. The consultant will collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to translate complex workflows into user-friendly designs, creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that reflect real-world shopfloor needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting user research through in person interviews with clients, mapping user journeys and information flows, defining interaction patterns, and iterating on designs based on feedback and data. The role also involves ensuring visual consistency across products, supporting front-end implementation with clear design specifications, and advocating for user-centered design principles throughout the development lifecycle.QualificationsStrong user experience design (UED) skills, including user flows, information architecture, and interaction design.Proficiency in mockups and visual design to create clear, cohesive interfaces that align with product goals.Experience with prototyping tools and methods to quickly test and refine design concepts.Basic to intermediate front-end development understanding (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with engineers.Experience designing for complex operational or enterprise workflows is highly beneficial.Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.Familiarity with design systems and accessibility best practices.Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Technical SkillsComfortable discussing modern web and backend technology stacks with clients and providing direction to development teams (Python, APIs, cloud platforms, databases)Working knowledge of AI/ML methodologies: supervised/unsupervised learning, LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworksProficient with AI development tools: OpenAI / Anthropic APIs, Claude Design, GenAI ToolsAble to read and reason about code — you don't need to be a software engineer, but you cannot be a black box to the engineers you work withSoft SkillsStrong communicator who can explain a technology stack to a warehouse manager and a ROI model to a CFO — in the same dayComfortable with ambiguity; able to scope a problem from a messy client conversationBias toward shipping — you'd rather show a working prototype than a 40-slide deckSelf-directed and accountable in a remote or hybrid environmentBonus PointsExperience in an operations focused environment Familiarity with ERP and WMS systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle WMS, etc.)Prior consulting or client-facing services experienceA strong portfolio of past designsWhat You're Signing Up ForYou'll work on problems that actually matter to the people running them. No internal tooling theater, no enterprise software that collects dust. The clients we work with are measuring results in throughput, cost-per-unit, and on-time delivery — and so do we. If that sounds like the kind of accountability you want, this is the right seat.Streamliners Studio is an equal opportunity employer.
