Underwriting Assistant

Welling Young has partnered with a Commercial Insurance Holding Company who is seeking an Underwriting AssistantPosition OverviewThe Underwriting Assistant position will work closely with underwriters to provide best in classservice to the programs’ producers. This includes evaluating and managing submissions, settingup files and procuring proper documentation, communicating with producers and underwriters,assuring accurate entry of data into the program’s systems and working with others to help timelyrate and prepare quotes. The Underwriting Assistant must have excellent interpersonalcommunication skills, be a decisive and organized person who can represent the programprofessionally, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and have the potential and desire togrow with us.Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting and processing support tailored to the needs of the underwriter
• Analyze insured information, loss history, and financial records
• Assist the underwriter with management and rating of a book of new and renewalfranchised auto and truck dealer garage insurance policies
• Prepare selection, pricing, quoting and binding of policies while ensuring consistency withthe underwriter and compliance with underwriting guidelines
• Practice effective communication with producers and team members to build strongrelationships built on mutual trust
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation of files and correspondence
• Collaborate with underwriters and managers on complex and detail-oriented projects andassignmentsSkills
