This individual will work closely with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team to promote quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective infection prevention practices.Responsibilities* Oversee daily nursing operations and resident care within an assigned unit* Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff* Monitor resident conditions, care plans, clinical documentation, and changes in care needs* Assist with staffing, assignments, and ensuring appropriate coverage for the unit* Participate in the orientation, training, coaching, and development of nursing staff* Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help address resident care concerns* Collaborate with physicians, providers, nursing leadership, and the interdisciplinary care team* Implement and monitor the facility's infection prevention and control program* Conduct infection surveillance and track trends involving communicable illnesses and healthcare-associated infections* Monitor compliance with infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions, and environmental protocols* Educate staff on infection prevention policies, procedures, and current best practices* Assist with outbreak prevention, investigation, response, documentation, and reporting* Support antibiotic stewardship and appropriate infection-related documentation* Ensure infection prevention practices meet applicable federal, state, and facility requirements* Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, audits, and regulatory surveys* Promote a culture focused on resident safety, clinical excellence, accountability, and teamworkQualifications* Active nursing license in the applicable state or ability to obtain* Previous nursing experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or a similar healthcare setting* Nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred* Experience with infection prevention and control preferred* Knowledge of infection surveillance, isolation precautions, and regulatory requirements* Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities* Ability to educate and support clinical staff while maintaining accountability for quality standards* Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered careThis is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys both clinical leadership and infection prevention and wants to play an important role in maintaining high standards of resident care and safety.Interested in hearing more?
