Location: Dubai, UAEEmployment Type: Full-TimeIndustry: Experiential Technology / Interactive Experiences / EventsAbout the RoleWe are looking for a skilled Unity Developer to join our technology team and develop interactive, immersive, and real-time experiences for events, brand activations, exhibitions, and installations.The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Unity and C#, with the ability to take a project from concept and prototype through development, optimization, testing, and final on-site deployment.You will work closely with creative designers, 3D artists, hardware specialists, and technical teams to build experiences involving touchscreens, sensors, cameras, LED displays, projection systems, motion tracking, APIs, and other interactive technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop interactive applications and experiences using Unity and C#.Build applications for touchscreens, interactive displays, kiosks, LED screens, projection systems, and immersive installations.Integrate Unity applications with external hardware such as cameras, sensors, LiDAR, RFID/NFC, Arduino, controllers, and other devices.Integrate REST APIs, WebSockets, TCP/UDP, MQTT, and other real-time communication protocols when required.Work with 2D/3D assets, animations, particle systems, shaders, video, audio, and real-time visual effects.Develop responsive and engaging user interfaces using Unity UI systems.Optimize applications for stable performance on Windows PCs and event hardware.Troubleshoot software, hardware integration, networking, graphics, and performance issues.Create prototypes and proof-of-concept applications for new interactive technologies.Work closely with designers and artists to translate creative concepts into functional experiences.Prepare reliable builds for live events and permanent installations.Support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at event venues when required.Maintain clean, reusable, well-structured, and documented code.Use Git/version control and follow proper development workflows.Required SkillsStrong experience with Unity 3D.Strong programming skills in C#.Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software architecture.Experience developing real-time interactive applications.Experience with Unity UI, animation, physics, materials, lighting, and rendering.Understanding of shaders and real-time graphics is preferred.Experience integrating Unity with external APIs and hardware.Knowledge of REST APIs, WebSockets, TCP/IP, UDP, JSON, and networking concepts.Experience working with cameras, sensors, serial devices, or similar hardware is an advantage.Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.Understanding of performance optimization, memory management, and GPU/CPU performance.Experience with Git or another version-control system.Preferred / Bonus SkillsExperience in any of the following would be a strong advantage:Computer vision and camera-based interactionOpenCVMediaPipeKinect / depth camerasLiDAR and people trackingMotion and gesture trackingRFID / NFCArduino / ESP32Robotics integrationMQTT / KafkaTouchDesignerResolumeOSC / DMX / Art-NetProjection mappingLED and multi-display systemsAR/VR/MR developmentAI API integrationMultiplayer or networked Unity applicationsCustom shaders / Shader Graph / HLSLReal-time data visualizationCandidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is technically strong, creative, and comfortable experimenting with new technologies.This role is particularly suited to a developer who enjoys building things beyond traditional games — interactive installations, digital activations, immersive environments, physical-digital experiences, and technology-driven experiences for live events.The candidate should also be comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment where applications need to be stable, optimized, and reliable during live operation.ExperiencePreferred: 2–5+ years of professional Unity development experience.Candidates with less experience but a strong portfolio of interactive Unity projects will also be considered.PortfolioApplicants should provide a portfolio, GitHub profile, showreel, or examples of previous Unity projects.
Projects involving interactive installations, experiential technology, sensors, computer vision, AR/VR, exhibitions, or event technology are highly preferred.
