The Lecturer will prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials, develop course materials and assessments, and evaluate student performance in accordance with university standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, supervising projects or theses as appropriate, and maintaining regular office hours for academic support. The Lecturer will engage in scholarly activities such as research, publication, curriculum development, and participation in academic committees and community outreach initiatives that support the university’s mission.Qualifications Advanced academic qualifications in a relevant discipline (minimum of a master’s degree; a PhD is strongly preferred).Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level, including course planning, delivery, and assessment.Strong research skills, with evidence of scholarly publications or ongoing research projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learners.Competence in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and basic productivity software for teaching and assessment.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to departmental activities, and participate in committees and community engagement.Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and support for students from diverse backgrounds.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple courses and responsibilities effectively.Experience in curriculum development, program improvement, or academic quality assurance is an advantage.Willingness to engage in professional development and align with the University of Gondar’s mission and values.
