We specialise in cloud, data, software engineering, user-centred design and AI, helping organisations deliver better services through modern technology and agile ways of working.We're currently supporting the delivery of critical digital services within a major UK government programme and are looking for experienced User Researchers to join our growing delivery teams.This role will support large-scale transformation initiatives within a nationally significant public sector environment, helping improve complex digital services used by both operational teams and the public.The RoleAs a User Researcher, you will help teams develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviours and challenges to ensure services are accessible, effective and evidence-led.Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you'll plan and deliver research activities, synthesise findings into actionable insights and help shape service design and delivery decisions. You'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, business analysts, delivery managers and technical teams to ensure user needs remain at the centre of decision-making.The role may support a range of digital transformation initiatives, including customer-facing services, operational systems and internal platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesUser Research DeliveryPlan, design and conduct user research using appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodsDevelop research strategies and approaches aligned to project objectives and user needsRecruit participants and manage research activities in line with governance and ethical standardsConduct interviews, usability testing, workshops and observational researchAnalyse research findings and identify key themes, opportunities and risksProduce clear, evidence-based recommendations that inform product and service decisionsStakeholder EngagementWork closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure research findings influence delivery decisionsPresent findings and recommendations to stakeholders at varying levels of seniorityBuild strong relationships with product, design, delivery and operational teamsAdvocate for user-centred design principles across programmes and projectsContinuous Discovery & Service ImprovementSupport ongoing discovery and iterative service developmentHelp teams understand user journeys, pain points and service opportunitiesContribute to service assessments and evidence gathering where requiredPromote research best practice and help improve research maturity across teamsGovernment Digital Service (GDS) AlignmentApply GDS-aligned user research practices and standardsEnsure research activities support accessibility, inclusion and evidence-based decision makingContribute to service design and transformation initiatives within complex public sector environmentsEssential Skills & ExperienceActive SC ClearanceProven experience delivering user research within complex digital transformation programmesStrong understanding of user-centred design and research methodologiesExperience conducting qualitative research including interviews, usability testing and workshopsAbility to analyse and synthesise complex research findings into clear, actionable insightsExperience working within agile multidisciplinary teamsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendationsExperience producing research plans, discussion guides, insight reports and presentationsStrong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principlesDesirable ExperienceExperience working within central government or wider public sector organisationsKnowledge of GDS Service Standard and Government Digital Service ways of workingExperience researching both citizen-facing and internal operational servicesFamiliarity with complex case management, operational delivery or service transformation environmentsExperience supporting service assessments and digital transformation programmesExperience working with sensitive or business-critical servicesWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for researchers who are naturally curious, collaborative and evidence-driven.You'll be comfortable engaging with a wide range of users and stakeholders, working within complex environments and balancing multiple priorities.
