Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob PurposeManage and oversee all utility systems supporting the poultry processing plant, ensuring reliable, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation while maintaining compliance with company standards, environmental requirements, and applicable regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the operation and maintenance of the plant's utility systems, including:Power generation and electrical systemsBoilers and steam systemsAmmonia refrigeration systemsWater treatment, RO and borewell systemsWastewater treatment / STPRendering plant utilitiesCompressed air systemsFirefighting systemsHVAC and ventilation systemsEnsure continuous availability and reliability of utilities to support production requirements.Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for utility equipment and systems.Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Monitor critical utility parameters, equipment performance, alarms, and operating conditions.Lead troubleshooting and corrective actions for utility failures and breakdowns.Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.Manage utility-related contractors, service providers, and external maintenance activities.Ensure proper availability of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables.Prepare and monitor the utilities department budget and control operating and maintenance costs.Establish and monitor KPIs related to utility reliability, energy consumption, water consumption, downtime, and maintenance performance.Ensure proper documentation, records, inspection reports, and regulatory certificates are maintained.Lead and develop the utilities team, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.Ensure employees are properly trained in safe operation, emergency procedures, and equipment handling.Support plant expansion and improvement projects related to utilities and infrastructure.Participate in emergency response and ensure contingency plans are available for critical utility failures.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of experience in utilities, engineering, or maintenance operations, preferably within a food manufacturing, poultry, FMCG, or industrial processing environment.Previous experience managing multiple utility systems in a manufacturing/processing plant.Strong knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, electrical systems, water treatment, wastewater treatment, compressed air, and power systems.Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.Good understanding of HSE and environmental compliance requirements.Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple critical systems in a 24/7 production environment.Good knowledge of MS Office and maintenance/ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.Key CompetenciesUtilities & Facility ManagementEngineering & MaintenanceEnergy & Water ManagementAmmonia RefrigerationTeam LeadershipPreventive & Predictive MaintenanceHSE & Environmental ComplianceTroubleshooting & Problem SolvingBudget & Cost ControlProject ManagementCross-functional Coordination
