We also deliver bulk domestic wood pellets to local schools and supply international markets with an industrial wood pellet to fulfill demands for sustainable energy alternatives to fossil fuels.We are currently seeking to fill a Utility Operator position at our Belledune, New Brunswick location. We are seeking candidates with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently under minimal supervision and safety focused mindset. This position will provide operational support across multiple plant systems, stepping in to fill vacancies, and assisting with the smooth functioning of day-to-day plant activities.As an integral part of our Operations Team, you will:Follow and work alongside crews to safely, efficiently & effectively run the plant and ensure production, quality and housekeeping goals are metActively participating in Tool Box meetingsStep in to cover for absent or unavailable operators across different shifts as neededPerform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on plant systems and machineryFollow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to safety and environmental protocolsMaintain accurate records of system operations, maintenance activities, and any incidentsAssist in the shutdown and startup of plant equipment during maintenance or operational changesCollaborate with the maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve plant efficiencyMaintain a clean and safe working environment in all areas of operationQualifications:Experience in a plant or industrial setting, ideally as an operator or technicianAbility and desire to operate a wide range of equipment, such as front end loaders and other mobile equipmentStrong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitudeFlexibility to work on various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as neededBasic computer literacy and familiarity with computerized control systemsAbility to work independently and take initiative when stepping into various rolesCommitment to following safety regulations and protocolsOpen to opportunities to train toward future roles within the facilityPhysical labour will be requiredWhy work for our Shaw Renewables team?We understand the importance of investing in and developing our people.
