Apply & track with Apply EdgeA leading international law firm is looking to appoint a Valuations & Damages Specialist to join a highly regarded band one Intellectual Property practice in London. This newly created position offers the opportunity to work at the heart of complex, high-value disputes, partnering with lawyers, barristers and clients to develop valuation and damages strategies across a broad range of contentious matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced disputes, valuation professional who is keen to move closer to the full lifecycle of litigation and arbitration matters. The role will focus primarily on intellectual property disputes, with scope to support matters across other practice areas including competition and commercial disputes. Key responsibilities include developing valuation models and damages assessments, analysing case strategy, managing expert evidence processes, drafting expert reports and legal submissions, conducting financial and economic research, and supporting clients through licensing negotiations, mediations and settlement discussions. The successful individual will also play a key role in helping to build and grow an expanding valuations and damages offering. Applicants should hold a relevant professional qualification such as ACA, CFA or an economics qualification and have experience of calculating damages and/or valuing businesses, intellectual property or other assets within a disputes, litigation or arbitration environment. Strong report-writing skills, exceptional analytical capability and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences are essential. Experience preparing expert witness reports would be particularly valuable. This position would suit individuals currently working within valuation advisory, disputes consulting, economic consulting, litigation support, forensic valuation or expert witness teams who are seeking a more strategic and commercially impactful in-house role within a collaborative and internationally recognised environment.
