Position - Venue Operations & Technology Senior SpecialistDuration - October till February 2027Location - Jeddah & Riyadhob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist – Venue Operations & Technology with a strong background in the sports events and live events industry. The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and operational delivery of venue technology and infrastructure for major sporting events and large-scale live events.The role requires a good understanding of venue IT infrastructure, network connectivity, technology systems, and operational requirements, ensuring that all venue technology is installed, tested, integrated, and operational in line with event timelines and technical specifications.The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple stakeholders, including venue management, IT and network teams, technical suppliers, event operations, and production teams, to ensure seamless technology delivery throughout the event lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the planning and delivery of venue technology and infrastructure for major sporting events, live events, and temporary event venues.Coordinate venue network connectivity, IT infrastructure, Wi-Fi, wired networks, and associated technology requirements.Work closely with venue operations, technical production, IT, network engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all technology requirements are delivered on schedule.Assist in developing venue technology plans, infrastructure layouts, technical documentation, installation schedules, and deployment trackers.Coordinate the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of venue technology systems before event operations commence.Ensure venue connectivity and technology infrastructure support operational requirements, including accreditation, ticketing, broadcast, media, hospitality, security, and event management systems, where applicable.Monitor technical readiness, identify potential risks or gaps, and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant teams.Conduct venue inspections, technical readiness checks, system testing, and operational handovers.Support troubleshooting and resolution of network connectivity, IT infrastructure, and technology-related issues during event setup and live operations.Coordinate technical suppliers and service providers to ensure compliance with agreed specifications, service levels, safety requirements, and delivery milestones.Maintain accurate records of technical requirements, installation progress, testing results, outstanding issues, and final sign-offs.Support contingency planning and escalation procedures to minimise technology-related disruptions during live events.Work closely with event operations teams to ensure technology infrastructure meets venue capacity, operational demands, and event-specific requirements.Assist with post-event reviews, documenting lessons learned and recommendations for future event delivery.Requirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Event Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.Proven experience in venue technology, IT infrastructure, network operations, technical delivery, or a similar role within the sports events, live events, entertainment, or large-scale event industry.Experience supporting major sporting events, stadiums, arenas, temporary venues, fan zones, or other complex event environments.Good understanding of network infrastructure, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, connectivity requirements, and IT systems integration.Experience coordinating technical installations, system testing, venue readiness, and live-event technical support.Ability to interpret technical drawings, infrastructure layouts, network plans, and technical specifications.Strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working across multiple technical and operational teams.Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and respond effectively to issues in fast-paced event environments.Strong organisational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.Flexibility to work on-site, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and during event build-up and live-event periods.Willingness to travel to event venues and project locations as required.Preferred SkillsExperience delivering venue technology for international sporting events or large-scale live events.Familiarity with temporary event infrastructure, technology deployment, and venue overlay requirements.Experience coordinating multiple technology vendors and managing technical dependencies.Understanding of event operational systems, including accreditation, ticketing, media, broadcast, and venue management platforms.Relevant IT, networking, or project management certifications would be an advantage.Key CompetenciesVenue technology and infrastructure coordinationNetwork connectivity and IT systems readinessTechnical project delivery and implementationSupplier and stakeholder managementRisk identification and issue resolutionLive-event operational supportPlanning, documentation, and deadline management
