Employment Type: Freelance ContractEligibility: Candidates must already be based in Saudi Arabia.Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Venue Technology Specialist to support the planning, implementation, coordination, and operation of venue technology systems for a major international football tournament in Saudi Arabia.The successful candidate will work closely with venue operations, technology teams, suppliers, and event stakeholders to ensure that all technology infrastructure and systems are properly installed, tested, integrated, and operational throughout the event lifecycle.This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure sporting event environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the planning, deployment, testing, and operation of technology systems across assigned venues.Support the implementation of venue technology infrastructure, including network connectivity, IT systems, communication systems, and other event-related technology solutions.Liaise with technology suppliers, contractors, venue teams, and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and integration of systems.Monitor technology readiness and ensure all systems meet operational requirements before and during event days.Conduct site inspections, technical checks, system testing, and commissioning activities.Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate technical issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize operational disruptions.Support the preparation and maintenance of technology plans, technical documentation, asset registers, and readiness reports.Coordinate technology requirements for venue operations, media, accreditation, ticketing, security, and other functional areas, as applicable.Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards, operational procedures, and health and safety requirements.Provide on-site technical support during rehearsals, test events, and live event operations.Contribute to post-event technology reviews and the handover or decommissioning of temporary technology infrastructure.RequirementsProven experience in venue technology, IT infrastructure, event technology, systems integration, or a similar technical role.Experience working on major sporting events, football tournaments, live events, or large-scale venue operations is highly desirable.Good understanding of venue IT infrastructure, network systems, connectivity, and event technology requirements.Experience coordinating technical suppliers, contractors, and multiple operational stakeholders.Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work effectively under pressure.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Comfortable working on-site across venues and during extended operational hours, including event days when required.Proficiency in preparing technical documentation, reports, and readiness updates.Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantageLocation & AvailabilityThe position is based across Riyadh and Khobar, Saudi Arabia, depending on project requirements.Candidates must already be residing in Saudi Arabia and available to work on-site.The contract will run until January–February 2027, subject to project requirements.Candidates must be available to commence according to the project schedule.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a hands-on technology professional with experience delivering reliable technology solutions in complex venues or live event environments.
