Vertical Transportation Engineer

The Vertical Transportation Engineer will lead the design, development and review of vertical transportation systems, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways, across multi-sector projects. The role will provide technical expertise and advice on VT operational strategies, design solutions, compliance and implementation, working closely with multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, manufacturers and project stakeholders.Key responsibilitiesLead the development and review of Vertical Transportation designs, drawings and technical submittals.Work closely with multidisciplinary Design Teams to develop efficient VT solutions.Prepare relevant drawings, schedules, reports and specifications.Collaborate with manufacturers to develop the most efficient and practical VT solutions.Review external consultants’ VT designs and provide technical recommendations where required.Prepare code compliance statements, diagrams, early-stage feasibility studies and design-stage reports.Work closely with Studio Management to resolve RFIs generated from construction sites.Review and recommend VT vendors and suppliers, including travelling when required to onboard and assess new vendors.Inspect VT installations and testing on site when required.Provide technical advice on VT operational methods across different project requirements and sectors.Work effectively with internal multidisciplinary teams, company-wide departments, external consultants and other stakeholders to meet project objectives and deadlines.Confidently communicate with external consultants to resolve technical, project management and contractual matters.Perform other relevant duties as assigned by Studio Leadership.Here's what you'll need12+ years of relevant experience in Vertical Transportation Engineering and Design.Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in Vertical Transportation Engineering, including elevators, escalators and moving walkways.Strong knowledge of Dubai Local Authorities, regulations, design requirements and construction processes.Proficiency in ELEVATE or other passenger traffic analysis software, AutoCAD/CADD, BIM and Revit.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Experience in design management, technical review, problem-solving and presentations.Ability to understand and balance engineering priorities across different projects and sectors.Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.Experience coordinating with consultants, manufacturers, vendors and multidisciplinary design teams.
