THE ROLESource, negotiate and fix Dry Bulk, Container, Feeder and MPP vesselsExecute Voyage Charters (VC), Time Charters (TC) and Slot Charter agreementsNegotiate directly with shipowners, operators and shipbrokersDevelop dedicated vessel solutions for 3,000+ containers/monthOptimize freight cost per metric ton / container and vessel utilizationManage charterparties, laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage/despatch and deadfreightMonitor bunker prices, Baltic indices, PDAs and vessel availabilityCoordinate vessel loading, draft surveys, stowage, stevedores, surveyors and port agentsManage container payload, floor-loading and heavy-weight restrictionsIdentify backhaul cargo opportunities and improve vessel utilizationOversee voyage profitability, claims and final voyage reconciliationWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR12–14+ years of direct commercial vessel chartering experienceStrong UAE/GCC shipping market experience is essentialProven track record of independently fixing vesselsHands-on experience with both dry bulk and container vessel charteringStrong existing network of shipowners, vessel operators, shipbrokers, liner operators and port agenciesExperience in UAE–Pakistan / UAE–India / GCC–South Asia trade lanes highly preferredKnowledge of ferrous scrap cargoes including HMS 1&2, sheared HMS, shredded scrap, bales and turningsStrong knowledge of Charterparties, Bills of Lading, Incoterms, P&I matters and marine claimsICS qualification/membership preferredTARGET CANDIDATE & ROLE SCOPEWe are particularly interested in candidates currently working or previously experienced with shipowners, vessel operators, shipbroking houses, commodity trading companies, steel/raw-material companies or major shipping organizations in the UAE/GCC.This is a senior commercial role for someone capable of independently building and managing a high-volume vessel chartering operation.
