This role is designed for someone who wants to use their veterinary knowledge every day while transitioning into the business side of the pet health and nutrition industry.You’ll work directly with pet parents, veterinary professionals, and the Chi Dog team—helping clients navigate their pets’ nutritional needs, representing Chi Dog at veterinary conferences across the country, supporting veterinary partnerships, and assisting with the operational work that keeps those relationships running smoothly.This is a remote position with significant independent travel and reports directly to Chi Dog’s Chief Operating Officer.What You’ll DoThe role is approximately 50% client and nutritional support and 50% veterinary partnerships, administrative work, data management, and conference responsibilities. The balance will vary depending on conference schedules and business needs.Client & Nutritional SupportYou’ll spend a significant portion of your time speaking directly with pet parents by phone and through digital support channels.You’ll listen to each client’s individual situation, gather relevant information about their dog or cat—including medical history, current concerns, dietary needs, medications when relevant, and their veterinarian’s recommendations—and help them understand which Chi Dog diet may be most appropriate based on Chi Dog’s established nutritional guidelines and product recommendations.You’ll be expected to:Use your veterinary background to understand and discuss client concerns confidently and compassionately.Explain Chi Dog’s diets, ingredients, feeding philosophy, and nutritional recommendations in understandable terms.Help clients navigate diet selection and feeding transitions using Chi Dog’s established protocols.Recognize situations that should be referred back to the client’s veterinarian or escalated internally.Adapt your communication style to each individual client.Provide a highly personalized experience rather than relying on scripted responses.Communicate effectively with clients who may be worried, frustrated, confused, or unfamiliar with veterinary terminology.Accurately document conversations, recommendations, follow-ups, and relevant pet information.Veterinary Partnerships, Data & AdministrationApproximately half of the role will involve supporting Chi Dog’s veterinary relationships and internal operations.Responsibilities may include:Supporting existing veterinary partners and developing relationships with new veterinary professionals.Following up with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, hospitals, and prospective partners.Entering and maintaining accurate client, veterinary, conference, and business data.Maintaining organized records and documentation.Performing routine administrative and operational tasks.Learning and working across multiple software platforms and online systems.Following up on leads generated through veterinary conferences.Assisting with projects and other operational needs as Chi Dog continues to grow.Previous experience with Chi Dog’s specific software is not required. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with technology and can learn new programs quickly.Veterinary Conference TravelThis position includes travel to approximately 9–13 veterinary conferences throughout the United States each year.You must be comfortable traveling independently and confidently navigating:Airports and connecting flightsAirline disruptions and schedule changesRental-car facilitiesUber/rideshare transportationHotelsUnfamiliar citiesConvention centersConference schedulesBooth setup and breakdownShipping, supplies, and other event logisticsConference travel may include weekends and multi-day trips.Chi Dog covers business travel expenses. Employees should not be expected to personally absorb the cost of traveling for the company.Company-paid or reimbursed travel includes airfare, hotels, baggage fees, rental vehicles, rideshare/ground transportation, and other approved business-travel expenses. Meals are covered through Chi Dog’s established per-diem policy.
