Veterinary Technician

As a Veterinary Technician at PetsFirst, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary team in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Your combination of technical skills, hands-on experience, and genuine compassion for pets will contribute to the overall success of our clinic.Responsibilities:Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:o Managing patients and assisting the Veterinarian during the consultation o Handling patients from the reception area to the consultation room and back to the reception areao Preparing patients for surgical procedures, assisting the Veterinarian during surgery, anesthesia monitoring, providing supportive care to animals before and after surgery, and sterilization of surgical equipment after surgeryo Collection of blood, urine, and fecal samples of patients Undertaking diagnostic and blood tests under Veterinarian guidanceo Administration of medication under Veterinarian guidance - oral as well as intravenous (IV)o Administration of prescribed quantity and type of food under Veterinarian guidanceo Cleaning boarding / treatment isolation cages o Assisting Reception with any medical related client inquirieso Managing day-to-day product inventorySkills and Qualifications:o Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (MOCCAE veterinary assistant license holders shall be preferred) o Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant (GCC experience will be preferred) o Excellent pet handling skills and comfort working with pet animals of various sizes and temperamento Proficiency in administering medications and basic medical procedures o Effective communication skills with clients, reception, and within the veterinary teamo Attention to detail and strong organizational skills o Physical ability to lift and restrain pet animals as needed o Familiarity with veterinary software and basic office applicationsIf you are interested in joining our team, please send your resume and an expression of interest to info@petsfirst.com with the subject line "Application for Veterinary Technician Role"
