Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking for a Finance - VP to lead and oversee the finance function for our client, a semi government entity in Abu Dhabi. This role requires a strategic and hands-on finance leader with strong experience in financial planning, accounting, treasury, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, governance and stakeholder management.This role will begin on a contract basis and is highly renewable, the role reports to the Chief Executive Officer in the Finance department.Key Responsibilities:Develop and lead the implementation of the organisation’s finance strategy in line with its overall business objectives.Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term business plans.Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and identify opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present regular financial performance reports, including financial status, income, expenditure, reserves and liquidity.Lead the preparation of annual and periodic budgets and financial plans.Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including variance analysis and financial commentary.Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.Lead the organisation’s treasury and banking activities, including cash management, liquidity planning, investments, guarantees and other banking requirements.Ensure sufficient funding and liquidity to support the organisation’s operational and contractual commitments.Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with applicable financial, legal, regulatory and accounting standards.Manage relationships with external auditors, financial advisors, lenders, shareholders and other key stakeholders.Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely completion of audits.Oversee tax planning, tax reporting and compliance requirements.Provide financial input and support for contracts, commercial agreements and other corporate matters.Review and approve financial transactions in line with the organisation’s delegated authority matrix.Work closely with senior management and other departments to support business performance and operational efficiency.Lead, develop and manage the finance team, including setting objectives, managing performance and supporting professional development.Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and controls.Prepare and present financial information to senior management, shareholders and the Board.Knowledge, skills & experience:10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant leadership experience within a senior finance role.Strong experience in financial strategy, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and governance.Experience managing treasury, banking, cash flow and liquidity requirements.Experience working with auditors, senior management, shareholders, lenders and other external stakeholders.Strong experience with complex financial transactions and financial modelling.Experience using ERP and accounting systems.A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.Strong leadership and people management skills.Excellent financial analysis, planning and strategic thinking skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a demanding environment.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Comfortable working independently while also operating effectively as part of a senior leadership team.Willingness and ability to work at an operational site location.Availability: Preference will be given to candidates available immediately or a maximum 30 days after accepting the offer.We are looking for a candidate who will be able to work in United Arab Emirates.
